Hiya lovelies, I’m Kasey and I am going into my 4 th and final year at Uni. As a result, I thought to myself what’s the best way I could spend my final year? And voilà here I am as the club captain of biggest and best society at Leeds Uni. I’m just saying if that doesn’t show you how great LUUWHC is then I don’t know what will! But if you don’t trust my word alone then come along and get involved yourself, I solemnly swear you will not look back! So, if this does interest you feel free to hit me up at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you in September my friends!
Hey! I’m Brook (some even call me cider brook) and I’m your transport gen sec this year! Although my life revolves around hockey aka the best society in the union, I am also going into my 3rd year studying Natural Sciences. When I’m not on the pitch or in terrace, I will be organising your buses and transport to your Wednesday and Saturday fixtures! All I’m saying is that you should look forward to Wednesday away days…! Any questions, give us a shout!
Hi guys, Sophie Sole here and I’m goinginto my third year studying BA Geography, and penultimate year of counting the days until the next Saturday hockey game. Often found: in terrace, at a Wednesday social, or getting dropped. This year I am the fixtures gen sec, which means I am responsible for organising all the Saturday fixtures, umpires and registration of players at the start of the year. I’m also Kasey’s helping hand alongside Brook and between us I’m sure we’ll be able to help you out if you have any questions!
Hello Hockey darlings, I’m Derry and I’m your new treasurer for this year. I’m studying Actuarial Mathematics, and I’ll be here to keep our finances nice and healthy. Despite being one of the worst players in the 8’s LUUWHC was by far my best Uni decision and I’m sure I speak for the whole committee in saying welcome to the best club on campus/ in the world. So, I look forward to seeing everyone’s fancy dress and another fantastic year of hockey, get the face paint ready girls!!
Hello fellow hockey lovers! I’m Kye, your new assistant general secretary. I will be working with and helping out your excellent gen secs Brook and Sophie to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. I hope you’re all looking forward to making the right decision and joining the LUUWHC fam!
Hey, I’m Hannah Gin aka Hannah Tonic (eyy) and I’m the new assistant treasurer. I am going into my second year of Economics and Geography and, alongside Derry, I will be looking after part of your precious student loan and making sure its spent to provide the best opportunities for you all. So, be reassured that your money won’t be wasted as you have an unforgettable year with LUUWHC!
Hi I’m Becky, I’m the new sponsorship sec! I am in my 4th year studying Geology. My role on committee is to ensure that the club gets sponsorship so that we can keep running this amazing club! Joining Luuwhc was the best decision I’ve made at uni; so my advice is to get as much as you can out of hockey, you’re only a fresher once!
Hey team, Maz here! Welcome to the City of Dreams. I’ll be going into my third year at LUUWHC whilst dabbling with a Classics degree on the side. As your alumni sec for this year I’ll be getting you the most bang for your buck by ensuring the alumni are nice and generous when it comes to alumni weekend (hands down the best weekend in the hockey calendar) by bonding and bridging the gap between the alumni and students. Joining the club will be the easiest and cleverest decision of your life… I’ll see you all in Terrace very soon!
If you’ve stumbled across this page then I’m doing my job properly (thank God). My name is Helena aka Desperate Scouse Wife, no prizes for guessing why, and whilst attempting a degree in Econ and Spanish, I’m here to channel my inner Kris Jenner and ensure my lovely Kardashian hockey children are showcased on every form of social media. Joining LUUWHC was the best decision I made, whether you’re top level or have never played before, give us the year and I promise you’ll be counting down to the first Wednesday of second year, I know I am!
Hello all, I’m Emily Copp, sometimes known as Emily sometimes known as Copp (take your pick) and I’m lucky enough to be your kit sec for the 2018/19 season. This academic year I will be playing hockey/ painting faces / seeing off VKs and also studying Biology. If you join LUUWHC you will make the bestest friends ever and have the time of your life. Get involved, see you soon xxxx
Hi, I’m India, I am going into my second year studying Fine art and History of art. I am this years assistant community sec. I will be working alongside Geni to bring new fun and yum charity ideas. Charity events really bring this amazing club together and I’m excited for the fab year ahead! xx
I’m Portia your new social sec for the 1&2s Leeds University Union Hockey club! Joining hockey was by far the best decision I made coming to uni and it is my job to ensure you have the same feeling! From all day socials to mixed socials, we’ve got big things planned to make sure you have the best time ever with a fantastic bunch of girls who will soon be your best mates.
Greetings lovely people. My name is moo and I will be one of your social secs this year. It will be my sole mission in second year to ensure we all have oodles and noodles of madness. Three things to expect from joining the LUUWHC: fun, friends and face paint. What more could someone want?! Oh yeah…and playing hockey
I’m Chloe Hagan and I’m social sec for the 5s/6s this year. I’m from Omagh in Northern Ireland and am doing Biochemistry in Leeds. I’m really looking forward to social sec as I can’t wait to get everybody involved and help people build friendships through a pretty top class sport.
Hi guys, I’m Lucy and I’m one of your four social secs. During my first year I was a silly fresh and made the mistake not to join a sports society. I spent my Wednesday’s at Warehouse with my ear drums being pounded by the speakers, and believed myself to be far too ‘cool’ for Fruity Friday. What a mistake I made. In second year, I stumbled upon LUUWHC, and found my Wednesday’s a mad blur of facepaint and VKs, with my hate for Fruity turning to pure love. Don’t be a silly fresh like me; become a part of LUUWHC, become a legend and join the fun x
Shalom Jackie, My name’s Ellie, but everyone in the club calls me Blondie – check the picture for the irony in that. I’m back from my year out on placement in London, and am hoping to help the 1s get promoted back into the BUCS Northern 1B in my final year at Leeds. If you’re looking for fun, mates for life, and all things hockey then LUUWHC is the place for you. And, as you can see from my nickname, you should join the club for some first-class wit and banter.
Hi I’m Claire, captain of the LUUWHC 2ndXI. I am in my second year of being a member of the amazing Leeds university hockey club! I decided to go for captain this year as I wanted to give back to the club and have a position of responsibility. One of the things I love about the club is that we do more than just hockey, we do way more. We are genuinely all very good friends that spend a lot of time together, whether that’s on legendary Wednesday socials, getting a little dressed up for once at our annual ball or participating in charity events like the half marathon. My job is more than just motivating my team on the pitch, it’s to ensure we maintain the amazing competitive, active and charitable reputation the club has.
Hi guys! I’m known to most as Vicky but a special few know me as Patsy! I’m the zesty 3s captain for the 2018/19 season and cannot wait to continue our success from last season into the next! When I’m not Studying Sports Science, (ZzzzZzz) catch me on the hockey pitch or maybe downing a pint (very slowly) in the Fav. Joining LUUWHC will be the best decision you make in your life!!! See you all very soon xox
Hi guys I’m Perm and I’m the new 4’s Captain! I’m heading into my 4th and final year at Leeds studying Chemical Engineering. As my name suggests, I’m the one with the big curly hair (it’s full of secrets) so you’ll be able to spot me from miles away! So if you join the 4’s this year, I’ll be the one organising you freshies to matches, training and giving you the low down on socials. Hope to see you all at trials!!
Hey guysss, I’m Alys and I’m your new 5s captain for the coming season. If I’m not living it up in fruity, or working hard (questionable) in the engineering department, you’ll find me playing hockey with my absolute favs. I look forward to many more of you joining me as part of the best club in Leeds, it’s a decision you won’t regret!
Helloooo I’m Alice and I’m lucky enough to be your 6s captain for this year. When I’m not making myself late for everything and anything you’ll find me having a ball in fruity on a Friday and avoiding the psychology building at all costs. Joining LUUWHC was the best decision I made last year and I can’t wait to meet you all, so here’s to another year of Cidey bs and memorable Wednesday nights xo
Hey, I’m Lorna (not to be confused with my twin Amy who is captain of the 8s) and I will be team captain for the 7s this year!! I’m going into my second year at Leeds studying French and History and when I’m not at uni for my very few hours of contact time a week, I’ll be on the hockey pitch, or off it with a VK in hand. I honestly can’t recommend joining LUUWHC enough – you’ll have a fab year filled with amazing people and memories.
Heyy, I’m Amy (or Twiggy to most of the club) and I’m the captain of the 8s this year! Before joining the club I didn’t really know much about playing hockey but I can say that this past year has at least allowed me to understand which end of the stick is which;) Being on a hockey pitch or at fruity during my first year has definitely helped to distract me from studying Civil Engineering and I hope that next year there’ll be a lot more of you joining the best team (the 8s) and this amazing club!
