Hey hey, I am Molly and I am sadly going in to my final year of my degree, although doing my best to find a way to stay in the greatest city for another year #neverleaving. I can’t even begin to tell you how much of an amazing club LUUWHC is and how much fun we all have (on and off the pitch tehehe)!! So make the right decision and join to see for yourself!! If you need me for anything at all feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org! I look forward to meeting each and every one of you (and sharing a pint or two)!
Hiya, Kasey Butler present! So, I’m going into my third year of studying Biological science and more importantly my third and hopefully not final year with LUUWHC. This year I’ve been upgraded and will be one of your Gen Secs, alongside Mortz. Basically I’m the clubs go to girl for anything transport related and will be helping out Molly with the all the important decisions, like for example to terrace or not to terrace? To which the answer is always to terrace! But no seriously any questions hit me up and welcome to the best society in Leeds!
Hey hey hey I’m Mortz! You’ll spot me wandering around campus or
on the sideline of the pitch in my #thatgreenpuffa. I’m going to be
sorting out all your umpires and making sure all your fixtures run as
smoothly as possible! This is my final year in the city of dreams and
I cannot think of a better way to spend it than with all the best
people in Leeds: the members of LUUWHC. It’s made my first two
years unforgettable (excluding Wednesday nights which no one
ever remembers) so be ready to make the best decision of your
university career by joining this crazay club!
Hey I’m Alice but most commonly known as Cheese, and I’m the assistant general secretary this year (aka committee female dog). I am going into second year of biological sciences, but spent most of first year involved with LUUWHC….. joining will be the best decision you ever make!
Hellooo, I’m Zanna and I’ll be your assistant treasurer for next year. I am currently a 2nd year studying philos, politics and economics. I will be helping out Lucy to make sure you get the best value for money as a member of LUUWHC and the cheapest bevs. Joining the club was the best decision of my first year – a great way to meet new and fun people, get stuck in and have a cracking time every single Wednesday, whether you remember them or not!
Heyyy I’m Ella and I’m in my second year studying Management with Marketing. As sponsorship sec I’ll be making sure the club gets the funding required to continue doing the amazing things we do. Whatever your skill level if you join the LUUWHC family you’re guaranteed to make some of your best friends and memories at university so don’t hesitate!
Hi guys, I’m Katie Hopkisson, the new alumni sec! I’m going into my 4th and final year of Medical Engineering. After 3 years in LUUWHC I’ve seen most of the alumni at their best and mostly worst. I’m up for the challenge of bridging the gap between alumni and current students, as they all miss Leeds way too much & you can’t blame them really!
Alright Alright ladies! My names Haz, 3rd year Geographer, but put on this earth solely to document the ins and outs of your 2017/18 experience with LUUWHC, which if you havent already gathered is going to be nothing you have ever experienced before, trust me! I will be keeping our social media pages funky fresh and letting the whole world know, we are THE best society there ever was! After 2 years at Leeds and 2 years in the club, I can hand on heart say joining Hockey was the best decision of my life, after choosing to come to Leeds. You will have the best year with us and hopefully many more to come! Can’t wait to meet you all xoxo Publicity girl
Hiya! I’m Liv and I’m your kit sec for this year! I study fashion marketing and my responsibility is to make sure we are all looking insta worthy on the pitch. I joined having never picked up a hockey stick in my life and it was the best decision I ever made! You create friends for life and have Wednesday socials everyone will be jealous of! I hope to see you all very soon!
Hi, I’m Holly and I am this years assistant community sec. I will be working alongside Megan to bring new charity ideas and hopefully increase our fundraising efforts this year!! LUUWHC is such a great club and I am so excited for this year!
Hi guys, Sophie Sole here. I was taken in as a cold, lonely fresher by the great loving arms of LUUWHC. It salvaged me from lonely Wednesday nights in, boring nights out at ‘Sticky Feet’ rather than Fruity. Our aim this year is to enrich the lives of freshers same way ours were last year. Expect great people, great getups and great fun (playing hockey obs). Nan told me to commit 110% to being an SS so that’s exactly what I’ll be doing this year. We live and breathe LUUWHC and we hope you will too xoxo
Wassup you legends, Totty here! One word of advice, not joining LUUWHC will be your first big uni mistake, and if you do join… I can guarantee you many more. So see you in September, let’s all hold hands, make memories and get beved!
Hello it’s Lara, I am so excited to be 1s captain this year for my 5th and final year in the team. We worked incredibly hard last season and have finally been promoted to the North Premier Division. So here’s to another year filled with great hockey and even better socials… Get ready for the best few years of your life with LUUWHC !!!
Hello all, I’m Emily Copp, sometimes known as Emily sometimes known as Copp (take your pick) and I’m lucky enough to be your zesty 3rdXI captain for the 17/18 season. This academic year I will be playing hockey/ painting faces / seeing off VKs and also studying Biology. If you join LUUWHC you will make the bestest friends ever and have the time of your life. Get involved, see you soon xxxx
Heyaaa, I’m Charlotte and I am the 4s captain this year!! I’m starting my
second year doing Medical Engineering (yes, it is as boring as it sounds) and when I’m not dying in Thursday 9am labs or wearing the wrong kit to matches, you’ll find me week in week out at strawbs. I can’t tell you guys enough that joining the amazing LUUWHC will be the best decision you will ever make!!
Helllllooo. My name is Katie Harding. Joining luuwhc was hands down the best decision I made in my first year. Not only does the club accept players of all capabilities but it thrives to improve player’s full hockey potential whilst building long-lasting friendships. Besides playing hockey, you may find me covered in glitter on a night out, in the Geography Manton building (lol maybe not), or drinking cider black in Terrace.
Hi guys, I’m the new 7s captain and I just wanted to give you a little bit of information about myself and the 7s. I come from Nottingham and started playing hockey (poorly, if I say so myself, sorry Miss Abbot!!) at school. I will admit that I am not the greatest hockey player but that doesn’t matter as everyone has the opportunity to improve, through training sessions and game time, and a chance to play the game we all love. The 7s are a lovely bunch of girls and honestly if you joined you would make some friends for the whole of uni and potentially life. We may not be the best at hockey but we do try our best and most of all we have a blast playing together and we never take ourselves too seriously. I joined LUUWHC, as before coming to uni I had been told that joining a sports team can make your uni experience and I totally agree. Joining LUUWHC will be the best decision you make whilst at Leeds!!
Heeeya! I’m Phoebe, better known as Costa and I’m captain of the 8s this year, also better known as the best team in LUUWHC!! If I’m not out falling in love with drag queens or eating raw garlic on Wednesday nights, I’m studying politics…. But don’t worry I’m not lying when I say that joining LUUWHC made my first year of uni absolutely amazing. You don’t want to miss out on downing pints of Jäger dressed as a taco, that’s for sure.
